Welcome to South Bay Echo written by David Rosenfeld, former reporter for The Daily Breeze turned local realtor. Together with my cousin, Broker George Ross, we are Rosetree Real Estate, the sponsors of this Substack blog.

Learn more at RosetreeRealEstate.com.

My intention with South Bay Echo is to deliver to your inbox every Thursday a short and snappy alert with the biggest South Bay stories along with the cute and the curious — just good old fashion hometown news told with delight from someone who grew up here.

Sign up now so you don’t miss the first issue.

In the meantime, tell your friends!

If for any reason you want to opt out of this free e-newsletter, you may unsubscribe at any time. No hard feelings.

South Bay Echo won’t just include the typical stories from the newspaper. Every issue will highlight something positive — a local photographer, restaurant, artist or spiritual teacher. I will also feature the every-day stories such as troubled traffic spots, photographs of local wildlife, bits of South Bay history and the occasional surf report when conditions are lit.

I want this Substack to be fun to read, told with the flavor of a local. I want it to be welcoming and engaging of reader comments while still providing essential news in the community and maybe even lift a spirit now and then.

This will also be a place to stay on top of the latest real estate development projects and market trends. So I will continue to keep an eye on planning commission and city council meetings so that you can stay up-to-date about what’s happening in your neighborhood and get involved.

For projects that have already been approved, such as the Legado development on Palos Verdes Blvd in Redondo Beach and the Galleria Project, I will stay on top of the progress and upcoming construction dates.

My hope, most of all, is that you find this blog informative, entertaining, fulfilling and valuable.
