North Redondo AYSO rocked by scandal
The North Redondo Beach AYSO community must be reeling this week after authorities asked for the public’s help to identify possible victims of soccer coach Jared Crevar, 37.
LAPD Harbor Division arrested Crevar on May 1 after he allegedly tried to have sex with a minor, according to the Daily Breeze. Details of the incident are unclear. Police said he was found with more than 600 images of child pornography and is currently out on bail.
LA tourism industry workers fight back
A coalition of tourism industry companies have joined forces to repeal a minimum wage increase for workers in Los Angeles to $30 an hour by 2028. The ordinance was meant to address workers during the Olympics.
Several unions rallied on the steps of Los Angeles City Hall on Tuesday to kick off a campaign against the referendum, according to the LA Daily News. The proposed ballot measure to repeal the minimum wage hike is backed by a coalition of airlines, hotels and concession companies known as the Los Angeles Alliance for Tourism, Jobs and Progress.
Rosetree Real Estate sells 4-plex in Redondo Beach
In January, I had the privilege of representing the seller of a four-plex on Helberta Avenue in Redondo Beach. I was working as a property manager for the owner when she passed away last October. The executor of the estate authorized me to sell the property, which involved nearly two weeks of work clearing out the owner’s apartment. In the end, we received three offers and sold to a buyer from Palos Verdes.

Hermosa Beach names interim city manager
There’s been some recent drama in Hermosa Beach over its city manager. With newly elected members, the city council recently held a performance review in closed session followed by Suja Lowenthal’s resignation. To fill her shoes, at least temporarily, the council appointed longtime South Bay resident and former Manhattan Beach Mayor Steve Napolitano, according to the Daily Breeze.
What the city of Hermosa gets with Napolitano is someone who truly knows the South Bay. All of our beach cities would be served best by hiring people who know the area. If they are not from here, they should at least have a good understanding of the community. For that, Napolitano’s got it.
That’s all for now. Thanks for reading.
Glad you’re back!
